However, I can never afford that as many apparels from international brands sold off the rack are not made for the Asian physique. Usually, the sleeves and shirt length would be too long. Getting them customised would be way beyond what I could afford. The Asian brands however, lacked quality.

Based on my experience in retail, I know that luxury items are not expensive to manufacture. They are just expensive to sell because of all the middle men costs involved in the distribution channel such as agents, brokers, distributors and wholesalers markups. I also knew that most of the manufacturers of luxury goods are based in the Asian region.

Hence, I thought, if I could customise the sizing to fit the Asian physique, source the products directly from the manufacturers that make luxury apparels then sell them directly to the customers, I would eliminate the middlemen cost and transfer the savings back to the consumers. In that way, I would be able to make Asians look good and feel good at a price point that our wallets can afford. [/info_list_item][info_list_item list_title=”What does oxwhite offer to our community? ” list_icon=”Defaults-comments” animation=”fadeInUp”]We make Asians look good and feel good affordably. We do that by making premium quality essential lifestyle products accessible to ordinary households. We started by making premium quality non-iron Supima cotton shirts (that ordinarily would retail at RM400) to RM79. Now we have pivoted to offering the community with other affordable premium quality lifestyle essentials such as crew neck tees, polo tees and inner-wears.

For home and living on the other hand, we are big on naturally derived ingredients and materials such as laundry detergents made with botanical extracts that are gentle on hands and luxury towels made with bamboo fiber.

The first one is to know your customers. No entrepreneur can succeed without customers. As such you need to know where to find your customers, what they do, what their lifestyle is like, when they will make their purchase and who will likely repeat the purchase. Hence data is important and e-commerce provides a convenient way to gather and harvest these data.

Secondly, always listen to your customers. As an entrepreneur, you need to know that the customers’ feedback is important as they are the people who would purchase and use your products. You and your brand can only be relevant to your customers if you can offer them the products that they want.[/info_list_item][info_list_item list_title=”What makes oxwhite unique?” list_icon=”Defaults-comments” animation=”fadeInUp”]What makes us unique is that we work closely with the community to develop products that they want to buy. For instance, we have a very active Facebook following of over 24,000. I personally would engage with the community and often crowdsource for opinions whenever we want to launch a product. We will only launch products that the community wants to buy and use. As such we have very loyal supporters and our repeat purchase rate is 48 percent.

My weekends are reserved for family. Go on a short vacation with family, somewhere close to nature. It makes me feel relaxed and some new ideas may just pop up when I am travelling. 

#3 Ideal holiday? 

Not too far, no further than 2 hours flight journey. Anywhere as long as there is a beach and close to nature. Most importantly to me, travel is to study the culture of a place, to understand how the locals live instead of just staying in luxury resorts. As for accommodation, a hospitable host is more than enough to make the vacation enjoyable.
