
Let’s admit it, we’ve all experienced cravings for sweet treats and especially if you’re watching your sugar levels, it can be a little challenging to fulfill your sweet tooth without worrying about it affecting your health.
Sweet treats are easy to come by but finding healthier options is where the challenge lays. While ultimately everything converts to glucose in the body to give it energy, avoiding refined sugars especially can be helpful for your health.
We understand the struggle and therefore, here are two recipes you can try at home that do not have any added refined sugar and yet they fulfill your sugar cravings.
Our strawberry jam is fragrant and its naturally sweet aroma will fill the air of your home. Same goes for our banana pancakes, they’re soft, fluffy and can be made in just about 15 minutes. Do try them out!
CHIA SEED STRAWBERRY JAM

INGREDIENTS | |

250g | Fresh strawberries, diced |
2 tbsp | Filtered water |
3 tbsp | Chia seeds |

METHODS
- In a saucepan and over low heat, cook strawberries.
- Once the fruit starts to soften, add water and stir until it starts to simmer.
- Then, turn off then heat and add chia seeds.
- Set aside for the jam to cool and transfer it to a glass jar.
- Keep the jam refrigerated when not in use.
BANANA PANCAKES
INGREDIENTS | |

2 | Ripe medium-sized bananas, mashed |
4 | Eggs |
3 tsp | Baking soda |
¼ cup | Coriander leaves (finely chopped) |
80 g | Self-raising flour |
50 g | Rolled oats |
1 tsp | Cinnamon powder |
250 ml | Fresh milk |



METHODS
- Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
- Then, heat up a skillet and grease it lightly with oil or butter.
- Spoon pancake mixture onto pan and cook pancake until golden brown.
- Repeat until batter finishes.
- The banana pancakes are best eaten warm.
