It’s that time of year again where gyms become crowded with those trying to make good with their New Year’s Resolution. Was one of your resolutions something vague like ‘I want to lose weight’ or ‘I will join the gym’? Why not change them to ‘I want to lose 10 kilograms for so-and-so’s wedding this coming October’ or ‘I will go to the gym at least three times a week and work out for 40 minutes each session’?
Additionally, why not challenge yourself to discover and learn a new form of exercise? Who knows, it might be what makes you want to keep working out. If you’re feeling a little lost on how to try out new things to include in your fitness routine, here’re our suggestions.

Join a gym
Sure, we said to think outside of the box but sometimes, the box has some solid ideas already. This is especially for those just starting their fitness journey and feel unsure. A gym is usually fully equipped with lots of fun group classes to choose from and also personal training for those who prefer one-on-one training. With the knowledge you gain from your personal trainer, you’ll
be able to use the equipment on your own. Once you feel more confident, explore the gym’s schedule and sign up for any classes that you think you’d like. This is the best way to find new activities to enjoy!
Try everything
If you enjoy group fitness classes and are easily bored, get yourself an all-access fitness pass! It’s the best way to enjoy lots of different types of workouts in a variety of gyms and studios in your area. From yoga to circuit training to Barre, work your body however and whenever you’d like! Additionally, some also provide a global pass as well so you don’t have to neglect your fitness when you travel.

Electric fantastic
Ever heard of EMS or Electronic Muscle Stimulation? This technology uses electric impulses that mimic the process of muscle contractions. This kind of stimulus may also stimulate deeper muscles that are rarely used such as those along the spine and this may relieve back problems. EMS training is done via a special suit with electrodes that’s worn during exercise. Each workout session is usually around 20 minutes and conducted by a trained professional.
To try EMS training, check out Impulse Studio which has three branches in Kuala Lumpur. For further information, go to their website at impulse-studio.asia.
Go online
