Professional Counselor and Director at Abri Integrated Mental Health, Faith Foo, is also the author of a recently released storybook, The 3 S’Elves.
The creatively written story is more than just a story with colourful illustrations. More importantly, it brings the reader through a journey of self-discovery just by reading the book.

While I was going through a confusing and challenging time of transition. To try and make sense of what was going on in my life, I wrote in my journal the inner dialogues of my Old Self, Mid Self, and New Self. That’s how this book came about![/info_list_item][info_list_item list_title=”Is this your first book? How did you know that it was the right time to start writing the book?” list_icon=”Defaults-comments” animation=”fadeInUp”]No, this is my second book. In fact, I was inspired to take out this journal entry of mine after reading my co-author Iso K. picture story book “The Lost Bird”. It gave me the idea of putting this journal entry into a picture book too.[/info_list_item][info_list_item list_title=”Were there times where you felt like giving up writing it? What kept you going?” list_icon=”Defaults-comments” animation=”fadeInUp”]Oh yes! Though, not really giving up on writing, is more on wanting to give up on this project. As this is my first printed book. I had to learn everything from ground zero, looking for the right illustrator, budgeting, deciding on book size, fonts, types of paper and much more. It was a lot of small details needing attention and research. It was a very stressful process for me on top of my stressful workload. I did have doubt whether this was a good idea or the story is good enough to share. We become like a stranger to our own selves. Learning to listen to our inner need is a crucial part of the process of waking up.
