Like it or not, if you work in an office, you will be spending at least eight hours a day there so the people you work with will become quite a usual part of your daily routine. Thus, having a supportive and more caring atmosphere in your workplace could really make the office a place you would look forward to spending time in.
Lend a hand
If you see a co-worker struggling with something that you can definitely help with, do give them a hand. Whether it’s a problem with their assignment or something physical like moving boxes, asking “Would you like a hand?” won’t hurt.
Getting personal
We don’t mean to pry but take an interest in your co-workers’ hobbies or even compliment their desktop background. Small talk isn’t actually a complete waste of time and striking up conversations with your co-workers could help you learn more about how they tick.
Applaud achievements
Who doesn’t like getting a “Good job” after a job well-done? Be that colleague and applaud the hard work of your team members. Send them a message complimenting their presentation or highlight your co-worker helping you the next time your boss compliments your work.
Random kindness
Why not do something nice just because you feel like it? Grab a box of cupcakes for everyone in the office or offer to take away some lunch for your busy colleagues. Your co-workers would appreciate these little acts of kindness and at the very least, you’ll feel good too!
