STRAWBERRY JAM


INGREDIENTS | |

400 g | Strawberries, washed and halved |
2 tbsp | Chia seeds |
1 tsp | Lemon juice (optional) |
1 tbsp | Sugar (optional) |
2 tbsp | Water |


METHOD
- Add all the ingredients into a saucepan under medium heat and let it bubble away for 15 minutes.
- Once it starts bubbling, lower the heat and use a fork to mash the strawberries together.
- Then continue to cook on low heat for 30 minutes until reduced by half.
- Stir regularly to prevent the jam from burning and stir continuously towards the end of the cooking process.
- Taste in case you might want to add some sugar if the strawberries are a little too sour to your liking.
- Cool it down for 30 minutes before filling it into a sterilised jar. Store in the fridge.
APPLE JAM


INGREDIENTS | |

1.5 kg | Red apples, peeled and diced |
¼ tsp | Clove powder |
¼ tsp | Cinnamon powder |
¼ cup | Water (can be substituted with apple juice) |
1 tbsp | Sugar (optional) |
2 tbsp | Lemon juice (optional) |
2 tbsp | Chia seeds |


METHOD
- Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
- Then, add them into a saucepan and boil for 30 to 40 minutes under low heat until soft.
- Use a fork and mash the ingredients together and mix it well.
- Remember to stir regularly to avoid burning the jam.
- Turn off the heat and let it cool down for 30 minutes before putting the jam into a jar. Store in the fridge.
Jam tip: You can use other fruits like guava, lemons, blueberries or even oranges to make jam.
