3 Aspects of YOU!

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is referred to as a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing.

Being healthy isn’t only about having a balanced diet. On top of that, it also consists of caring for your emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. So, what can you do to stay healthy as an individual?

Here’s how!

Emotional wellness

Is the ability to control your emotions and express them appropriately and comfortably.

What can you do?

  • Take some time to process your emotions and manage them well. This includes stress management, self-care and relaxation. By doing so, you’re able to recognise and understand your emotions without being negatively affected by it.
  • Practice mindfulness and stay positive.

Physical wellness

This is probably the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about health and wellness, which is right. Physical wellness is much more than just losing a few kilogrammes. It is the ability to carry out daily tasks accompanied with proper diet and regular exercise.

What can you do?

Have an exercise routine that works well according to your daily schedule.

Get at least six to eight hours of sleep everyday in order to be able to perform well the following day.

Mental wellness

Allow yourself to grow, learn, and accept all challenges with an open mind.

What can you do?

  • Talk about your feelings to friends, family or an expert if needed.
  • If you have a belief system, then stick to it. Do not let others condemn what you believe in. However, take some time to explore and understand other belief systems that your friends and family have and include them in yours if it’s required.

Wellness might look different for you or others around you, but it should include a satisfying balance of physical, mental and emotional health. So, give these ideas a try and share with your loved ones too!
