It was a morning filled with body stretches and strikes during 1Twenty80’s third birthday celebration. How does stretching and striking go hand in hand during a celebration?
This year, 1Twenty80 brought our readers on a journey of exploration as we learnt exercises from the East. Held at Wang Muay Thai Fitness in Damansara Kim, Petaling Jaya, participants of all fitness levels and ages had a good introduction to yoga and Muay Thai.
The morning started off with a one-hour session of yoga led by certified yoga instructor, Jia Urn. The yoga session saw participants putting their flexibility to the test while strengthening important muscles to maintain balance and strength.
It was then followed by an intense Muay Thai training session where participants discovered the art of Muay Thai. The session was led by trainers Kru Su and Kru Yai who taught participants the foundation of Muay Thai. The excitement amplified when all participants were given the opportunity to test out their Muay Thai knowledge with a one-on-one sparring session.
It’s safe to say that the celebration ended on a positive note as participants headed home gleefully after and intense morning and most important, to be bringing home important fitness knowledge along with them.
